How Consignments Work
Currently Listed Boat Street Consignments
Our consignment program is for bikes that are too nice or rare for us to give trade value for. There are a lot of bikes that fall into this category; unfortunately we have limited space, so we only carry a maximum of ten bikes for consignments at a time.
If you're interested in consigning your bike, start by bringing your bike to the shop. Our mechanics will look at it and assess a few things:
- We have to value the bike at $800 or more
- The bike has to be in good working order (we require all bikes have a performance and safety tune at half price for accepted consignments)
- While Recycled Cycles has great success with our consignments, we do not have the audience for every style of bike. Therefore, we do not consign recumbent, electric or highly custom bikes. We suggest exposing these types of bikes to a larger audience via eBay or Craigslist.
After the bike is sold, we will mail you a check for 70% of the purchase price.
Trading Bikes and Parts:
If you have bikes or parts you want get rid of, bring them to Recycled Cycles anytime we're open. We'll evaluate what you have and offer credit toward a purchase.
Note: In order to trade something to us you must have either proof of purchase, a Washington state ID, military ID, or passport, AND one other piece of ID.
